Although I have never been out of the country, there are many interesting places "off the beaten path" that few have seen en masse. From the Blue Springs of Florida's panhandle to the Iwo Jima Memorial in Harlingen, Texas to the Petrified Forests of Northern California, there are fascinating and interesting places to see. What has been your most memorable place and why? How peculiar was your mode of transportation (rail, donkey, camel, etc.)? If you were to return to it, who would you want to go with you? I went one day to Yosemite National Park with my son and the following day to Sequoia National Park, also for one day. Next time, thanks to a special on the Travel Channel, I intend to go and spend a week at each place - drinking in the beauty and wildlife and getting totally intoxicated on the wonders of creation!
