1. Take 15-30 minutes a day to read a book or a magazine.
Its not even really about what you are reading, its about taking that time to relax,
and preoccupy your mind with something trivial for a few minutes, to de-stress.
2. Prepare your own meals instead of eating out.
There are several reasons to do this. You will save money, and ultimately that will make you happier.
The other reason is that in all likely hood this will be a stress free activity, in addition to being healthier.
So its another stress free activity, its healthy and its cheaper, you don't get much better than that 3 for 1!
3. Be physically active daily!
This is very important for those of you who work most of the day behind a desk.
At some point in your day you need to do some type of physical activity for a few minutes.
If its too hard to get to the gym, or go running don't despair, fire up Youtube and try to learn
to dance to the latest music videos. About 3 for 4 videos should give you a good work out, and
as a bonus you may get some new moves before you go clubbing this weekend.
4. Don't deal with people that annoy/upset you.
I'm deadly serious about this one. And when I mean annoy/upset you, if you're a petty person it doesn't count.
I am talking about if you know you have people in your life that are geniunely mean spirited to you for no reason.
I don't care if you've known them a decade or not, stop taking there calls and ignore them if they show up to a group activity.
You need to spend your time and energy on maintaining or adding positive people into your life.
5. Surround Yourself with Positive stimulation.
You will be amazed how much better you feel if you put an interesting or even inspiring background on your desktop,
an upbeat ringtone on your cell phone, and best of all listen to upbeat music as much as possible through out your day.
You will also find that this will make you more productive. So much so you won't believe how much time went by or how much you accomplished. Other ideas are painting the room you sepnd the most time, buying plants to freshen the air in your enviornment,
or even buying posters that will motivate you.
6. Surround Yourself with Evidence of Your Own Success!
Alot of people become depresseed because they don't feel like they've accomplished anything in their life.
To avoid this surround yourself with proof of your own greatness. Even if you have to dust off old trophies from highschool,
pull out those old certications, anything that signifies an achievement will remind you that you have done great things, and inspire
you to do more. If you don't have anything like that, find something you've done, a poem a short story, anything you feel proud of and put it where you can always see it as a reminder.
7. Set Daily Goals and try to Accomplish them.
Procrastination is probably one of the biggest culprits for people feeling depressed.
By constantly putting off progress, and in turn increases the amount of guilt or inadequacy one already feels. Its not enough to DO
something, its more important to DO something "you set out to DO". If you make a plan and follow through on it, you will feel better
than if you had simply performed the act, because it demonstrates your self discipline and your control over circumstances in your life.
8. Don't rush.
Rushing to do anything will cause you unnecessary stress and agitation. But what if I really need something done now?
Well if you really need it done right away, in all likely hood its probably important that you do it right. I prime example would be
lacing your shoes. I have never seen anyone rush through this with favorable results. They either don't do it correctly and are forced to do it again later, or do it so poorly that they repeat the process 3 times then and there. If you think about anything in your life, you will find that the same truth applies. If you just take your time and do it right, you'll find it took less time than you thought, especially since you only had to do it once.
9. Take care of Yourself. AKA BE SELFISH!
Every time you get paid, despite whatever else you have going on you need to take care of yourself. This means that out of every pay check, buy yourself something you really want, and treat yourself to at least one liesure activity. Go to a movie, get a new outfit, do something that is just for you. Taking your kids out to a movie doesn't count, this is supposed to be about YOU. And if you really want to do this right, don't just do it on pay day, budget to do it once a week. Being selfish once and a while means that you won't spend the rest of your time resenting any sacrafices you make (as much). It also means you will be more willing to compromise when necessary, and when things aren't going so great you will have something pleasant to think back to withouth having to think back too far!
10. BE NICE...
It may sound cliche, but you should try to be nice whenever possible. There are several reasons for this. First off it actually does feel good. Secondly, when bad things happen to you, you will have every right to be geniuenly upset, and therefore no one will begrudge you having a tantrum, they will probably have one on your behalf. People do notice, and people do respond in kind. If everyone decided THEY were not going to be the reason for someone's bad day, nobody would every have a bad day. I'm completely serious.

this is basically just a video post but the point is that this is too funny.
Having just seen the Iron Man movie I have to say that I"m impressed all around. The casting was excellent, and the story was well told. The effects and visual graphics were stunning, the musical score fit very well, and everyone delievered in this production.
The methology used in this telling of Iron Man was more closely related to the Marvel Ultimate Iron Man series, and the Ultimate Avengers.
SHIELD is actually mentioned in the movie, unfortunately none of our favorite Iron Man vililans like Fing Fang Foom or the Mandarin make and appearance.
