ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Quarterback Terrelle Pryor did not take part in the open portion of the Oakland Raiders practice as he recovers from a sprained right knee. Pryor was in a baseball cap and no pads Wednesday while undrafted rookie free agent Matt McGloin led the first-team offence at the start of practice. Pryor hurt his knee in a loss to Philadelphia on Nov. 3 and struggled while playing through the injury in last weeks 24-20 loss to the New York Giants. Pryor completed just 11 of 26 passes for 122 yards with one interception in his fourth straight sub-par performance. McGloin played briefly in relief against the Eagles, completing 7 of 15 passes for 87 yards. Bill Ranford Oilers Jersey. Zack Kassian Oilers Jersey. -- Canadas Nicole Vandermade won the Four Winds Invitational on Sunday for her first Symetra Tour title, closing with a 4-under 68 for a one-stroke victory. ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders got some good news in free agency Thursday, one day after voiding top target Rodger Saffolds contract because of a bad shoulder. The Raiders signed defensive end Justin Tuck and linebacker LaMarr Woodley to two-year deals in an effort to bolster their pass rush. ESPN reported that Tuck will be paid $11 million and Woodleys deal is worth up to $12 million. The two pass rushers have combined for 117.5 career sacks, reached double figures in a season seven times and have won three Super Bowl titles in their careers. Tuck joins the Raiders following nine seasons with the New York Giants during which he helped the team win two Super Bowl titles. Tuck has made two Pro Bowls and has 60.5 career sacks, 20 forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries in 127 career games with New York. "Last week, I absolutely did not see it coming," Tuck said. "It wasnt necessarily on my radar at that point in time, but everything accelerated pretty quickly, and Im excited. I really am. I like the direction that this team is talking about going in, and I just want to be a part of it." Woodley, 29, had 57 sacks in seven seasons in Pittsburgh and helped the Steelers win it all following the 2008 season. Woodley struggled with injuries the past three seasons but was still an effective rusher when healthy. He ended last season on injured reserve with a calf injury and the Steelers released him because of his high salary. After averaging 11 sacks per season from 2008-11, Woodley has only nine sacks in 24 games the past two years. He did have eight quarterback hits and 24 hurries and was one of the most efficient pass rushers last season, according to Pro Football Focus. Woodley played linebacker in Pittsburghs 3-4 defence but is also able to play defensive end in Oaklands four-man front. The Raiders need help on their pass rush after losing last years leading sacker and most consistent defender, LaMarr Houston, to Chicago in free agency. The other three starting defensive linemen -- Pat Sims, Vance Walker and Jason Hunter -- are also free agents. Tuck, who turns 31 this month, was rated as the ninth best pass rushing defensive eend by Pro Football Focus last season when he had 11 sacks, 12 quarterback hits and 44 hurries.dddddddddddd Oakland has not had a player reach double figures in sacks since Derrick Burgess and Warren Sapp both did it in 2006. "Everyone talks about once you turn 30, its all downhill," Tuck said. "I dont believe in that. I dont look at myself in that regard. I feel like I have a lot of great football left in me." The Raiders have now made three free-agent additions this week, having previously signed right tackle Austin Howard to a five-year, $30 million deal. Running back Darren McFadden also agreed to re-sign with the Raiders on a one-year deal worth up to $4 million. Saffold was expected to be in the mix before the Raiders were scared off because of a shoulder injury and voided the five-year, $42.5 million contract that included $21.5 million in guarantees. Howard and Saffold were supposed to help anchor a rebuilt offensive line but now Oakland still needs to look for a left tackle to replace the departed Jared Veldheer. "We were excited about maybe getting the chance to play together," Howard said. "But thats the way this business works. Hes a tremendous guy, a tremendous athlete. I believe he really would have fit in well here and we would have been really excited to play together. Thats how it goes. Its very unfortunate." Oakland was burned last off-season by the acquisition of two players with existing injuries. Quarterback Matt Flynn was acquired despite a shoulder injury and he lacked arm strength before being released early in the season. Oakland used a first-round pick on cornerback D.J. Hayden, who had a near-fatal heart injury in college. Hayden missed the entire off-season and was limited in training camp because of the injury and struggled his rookie year before a sports hernia injury sidelined him for the season in November. The Raiders could fill the left tackle void with last years second-round pick, Menelik Watson, who played sparingly as a rookie because of injuries, a draft pick or with a second-tier free agent after most of the top available left tackles have signed elsewhere. ST. LOUIS -- Typically, a Sam Bradford rehab update in early June is not a major media event. Blame it on the other Sam on the St. Louis Rams roster. Attention was super-sized Thursday because of rookie defensive end Michael Sam. "I figured thats where you guys would be," Bradford joked after a workout. Sam, the first openly gay player drafted in the NFL, meets with reporters on Friday. The team is hoping the hubbub will die down eventually and Sam will be treated like any other seventh-round pick. "I think the media doesnt give athletes enough credit for just accepting players as they are," said wide receiver T.J. Moe, who was Sams teammate at Missouri. "They just assume its a tough-guy culture, and How are they possibly going to handle it? I think maybe its the other way around. How are the media handling it?" Bradford, the first overall pick in 2010, is more than five months removed from left knee surgery and said everything is on schedule. The quarterback got a scheduled day off to allow for bounce-back time and is expected to practice Friday. "To be honest, throughout the process Ive felt really good and felt better than what Id anticipated," Bradford said. "Even when youre healthy you have good days with your arm and bad days with your arm, and now its kind of the same thing with my knee." During the rehab, Bradford has added upper-body strength and believes he has a "little more pop" on his throws. "Moving around great," coach Jeff Fisher said. "Yeah, he does everything. Hes doing all the drops and the footwork is really good." Rumours the Rams might draft Johnny Manziel were easy for Bradford to dismiss. He was kept in the loop by Fisher and general manager Les Snead during the off-season. "They made it very clear what their plan was," Bradford said. "They continue to make that clear." Neither Bradford nor Fisher believe the quarterback has anything extra to prove this season. The Rams drafted protection for Bradford, taking Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson with the second overall pick, and held onto guard Rodger Saffold. They added veteran wide receiver Kenny Britt to the mix, too, reuniting him with Fisher. Britt made a couple of nice catches and also was involved in a bit of a scuffle Thursday. "Right now Im actually taking this year as a rookie year and building my platform," Britt said. "Everything starts from scratch." Britt had little to say about a sexually explicit video posted to his Instagram account last month. "Thats something that touches home," he said. "Me and my wife have to deal with that. Were going to leave it at that." Notes: Fisher anticipates offensive tackle Jake Long, also rehabbing from knee surgery, will be ready to participate in the middle of training camp and was "on pace" to start the opener. Long was hurt at the end of the season and his operation was in January, about two months after Bradfords procedure. Tie Domi Maple Leafs Jersey. The Pacers, who had lost eight straight games, still led by 33 at halftime. Rodney Stuckey posted his second straight double-double and Indiana crushed Los Angeles, 110-91, on Monday. The Pacers got to rest on Sunday while Kobe Bryant and the Lakers played in Minnesota. Bryant hit a pair of free throws in the second quarter of that game to pass Michael Jordan for third place on the all-time NBA scoring list. The Lakers beat the Wolves to win their third straight game, but they came down from that high just minutes into Mondays game in Indiana. C.J. Miles layup at 2:22 of the first quarter gave the Pacers a 26-4 lead. Los Angeles scored 11 points in the final two minutes of the period and still trailed 34-15. They came out and just jumped on us, Lakers head coach Byron Scott said. They have a good team. The second quarter went much like the first, with a 14-2 Indiana run pushing the margin to 48-17 five minutes before halftime. The Pacers led by 39 points when Bryant and Wesley Johnson hit consecutive 3s to send the two teams into haalftime.dddddddddddd Bryant shot 3-for-13, the bench was 2-for-19 and the Lakers stumbled to a 16.3 percent shooting performance over the first 24 minutes. They trailed 60-27. Stuckey had 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and Miles scored 20 off the bench for Indiana, which hadnt won since Nov. 28 against the Magic. Defensively, we made it tough on them, Miles said. We have to go out there and know its not going to be given to us. Bryant put up 21 points on 8-for-26 shooting. Nick Young netted a more efficient 18 points on 12 shots and Carlos Boozer went for 13 and 10 boards. The Lakers won the third quarter, 31-29, and outscored Indiana by 12 in the fourth. They got as close as 14 on a Jordan Clarkson 3-pointer with a minute remaining. Donald Sloan had 15 of his 17 points in the fourth, including a pair of 3s in the final minute, to push the final margin back to 19. PHILADELPHIA - Their last names follow them to every rink: Lemieux, MacInnis, Turgeon. Its a blessing and a burden for nine sons of former NHL players who are all expected to be taken in the first four rounds of the draft this weekend. Theres Sam Reinhart, son of Paul; William Nylander, son of Michael; Kasperi Kapanen, son of Sami; Ryan MacInnis, son of Al; Brendan Lemieux, son of Claude; Ryan Donato, son of Ted; Daniel Audette, son of Donald; Dominic Turgeon, son of Pierre; and Josh Wesley, son of Glen. "Its just awesome to see that other players sons are being able to make it because theres a little bit of pressure that comes with playing with the name on your back," Brendan Lemieux said. "And its not very easy, especially when youre playing minor hockey, to do it when your dads there and people see you different just because of who your dad is." So many of these young men shared similar experiences along the way, getting a taste of the NHL lifestyle at practice rinks and in locker-rooms. "I felt like I was kind of born into hockey with my dad," Dominic Turgeon said. "At that very young age I promised myself, thats what I want to do with my life." Along the way, these nine prospects took varying paths. Some followed in their fathers footsteps as closely as possible, while others wanted to do their own thing. "Its just the father-son relationship: that DNAs there," NHL Central Scouting director Dan Marr said. "Sometimes they play opposite styles: Tie and Max Domi, Ryan and Al (MacInnis)." Sam Reinhart, whos expected to be a top-five pick in Friday nights first round, is a centre whereas his father spent 10 NHL seasons as a defenceman. Sam was born six years after Paul retired and didnt really model his game after him as much as naturally pick up some tendencies. "My dad never really taught me a skating side of the game, and I think thats just kind of the way I picked it up and I hear it has been similar to his," Reinhart said. "Ill take that." Kasperi Kapanen, who spent the first 12 years of his life in North America as Sami played for the Carolina Hurricanes and Philadelphia Flyers, considers his dad the biggest influence on his hockey career as his teacher, mentor, trainer and No. 1 fan all at the same time. At one point, Sami and Kasperi were teammates for KalPa Kuopio in Finland, which made him think twice. "Its kind of weird if he has the puck on the ice and youre with him and yell out, Dad!" he said. "And you think about it for a second like, Whats going on?" Kapanens goal is to become at least as good a pro as his dad, if not better. Thats a high bar for Ryan MacInnis, a centre who doesnt have the blistering shot his dad, a Hall of Fame defenceman. Marr told MacInnis to expect questions from interviewing teams about how fast he can shoot. "I have no idea," said MacInnis, who hasnt tested his shot with a radar gun. Ryan MacInnis does have some of his dad in him, or at least the defensive awareness. And scouts watching notice the bloodline. "When you watch him wind up, he has a very similar style of wind-up," said Ross MacLean of the scouting service ISS Hockey. "The mechanical structure of it is very, very similar. Its certainly nowhere near the velocity or the heaviness that his father had, but that might come as he continues to mature." William Nylander, who played youth hockey in the United States before his family moved back to Sweden, will likely need time to mature. He was just five or six years old when Michael played for the Washington Capitals and invited Nicklas Backstrom over to their house. Lemieux still has good relationships with some of Claudes former teammates, including now-Colorado Avalanche vice-president Joe Sakic and coach Patrick Roy. When Brendan met with the Avalanche, Roy kept quiet and let the rest of his staff do the talking. The pre-draft interview that surprised Lemieux was with the Detroit Red Wings, who his father spent years tormenting as an agitator extraordinaire. Lemieux didnt think it would be a legitimate interview, especially with one of Claudes biggest rivals, Kris Draper, in the room. "I thought they were going to walk in, make a few jokes," Lemieux said. "They were extremely professional, they barely brought it up. I tried to joke about it, they werent even budging. They were extremely serious. I was really impressed. Id have no problem playing in Detroit after that interview, for sure." Thats if the Red Wings want a carbon copy of Claude Lemieux. Brendan knows the game has changed since his father sunk the Stanley Cup to the bottom of the familys pool in 2000 but doesnt want to deviate much from how Claude played. "I think I can still bring that maybe a little bit of old-school sandpaper to a power-forward type role," said Lemieux, who admires Dallas Stars pest Antoine Roussels game. "I think a lot of teams are looking for that edge." Ryan Donato hopes a team is looking for a two-way centre in the vein of Jonathan Toews or Patrice Bergeron. Ted Donato, who will be his sons coach at Harvard next season, mentored Bergeron during his final season with the Boston Bruins, which gave his son someone else to model practice habits on. As far as off-ice habits, Ryan might want to be like his dad. "One of my favourite (stories) was when Ray Bourque got up to go to the bathroom, I guess he took his shoes off for a second and my dad got two lobsters and put them in his shoes and he came back and he put his feet in his shoes and there were lobsters in there," Donato said. Daniel Audette, more of a passer than Donald, who scored 260 goals in his NHL career, has a favourite story about his dad that hell probably tell friends this weekend. "On his draft day when he was 19 years old, he didnt get drafted - he was in the last rounds and he was getting mad," Daniel recalled. "He was throwing chairs in the back of the rink. He really wanted to get drafted, I guess." Finally the Buffalo Sabres took Donald in the ninth round in 1989. Daniel wont have to wait nearly as long, as hes projected to go in the first three rounds. The same goes for Dominic Turgeon, who wants nothing more than to be just like Pierre. "He loves to protect the puck down low," Turgeon said. "Thats what I do all the time in the offensive zone, really use my body to my advantage and drive the puck to the net." But with the name Turgeon comes expectations. Its true for all nine prospects, whether they like it or not. Still, there are plenty of benefits, like making scouts look twice because of the pedigree. When they do, more often than not they can tell theres some extra polish. "They grew up around the game," Marr said. "I think thats the advantage that they have. Ryan MacInnis, hes a professional athlete at 17 years of age, but his hockey sense and his hockey IQ, you can see thats what hes got from his dad, the way he plays the game." --- Follow @SWhyno on Twitter. But the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis was marred when pole-sitter Sebastian Saavedra stalled, and debris from the resulting three-car accident struck the Indianapolis mayor.IndyCar President of Competition Derrick Walker said Tuesday none of the circuits that have used standing starts in the past met the minimum space requirement. He also said inconsistencies with the launch software made such starts too unpredictable. There is some development needed with the launch, Walker said in a statement that didnt rule out the eventual return of standing starts. We know the fans enjoy it, and we love it, too.IndyCar also announced Tuesday that double points will be awarded in the Indianapolis 500 and the season-ending race at Sonoma Raceway next season. The winner will receive 100 points, the runner-up gets 80 points and 70 points go to the third-place driver. The allocation continues down to the point where those finishing 25th or lower receive 10 points.By giving more points at the seasonn finale at Sonoma, which is on a road course, IndyCar hopes its championship will be more dramatic.dddddddddddd The title race has gone down to the finale every season since 2005.The best trend with multiple cars racing for the championship was weighting it for the final race and the Indy 500, which is a special race deserving of double points, Walker said. Also announced Tuesday:- IndyCar will have six open tests, and the new bodywork kits will debut during a March test at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama.- The manufacturer championship has been tweaked to reward reliability and competitiveness, with only the top three Chevrolet and Honda finishers receiving points. Previously, points were scored by the overall top five.We dont want the manufacturer championship to be a contest that is solely about whether you can dominate the grid with the number of cars in your lineup, Walker said. It is about engines, and we measure their performance in a few different ways.- Rookie testing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will see its three phases increased by 5 mph each. Phase 1 will consist of 10 laps at 205-210 mph. Phase 2 will be 15 laps of 210-215 mph. Phase 3 will be 15 laps in excess of 215 mph. Each week, TSN.ca takes a look at the top storylines in the NFL and gives you all you need to know heading into Sundays action. All in! Chargers win and get in, Chiefs need some help This isn't exactly a win-and-get-in game because Kansas City will need some extra help, but it's a very important one for both teams. The Chargers caught a bit of a break when the Chiefs announced QB Alex Smith will miss the game with a lacerated spleen. With Chase Daniel now behind centre, expect Kansas City to rely even more on Jamaal Charles and their run game, which could be a winning strategy against San Diego, who has one of the worst run defences in the league. With home field advantage, the Chiefs may be able to pull this one out, but even then will be forced to scoreboard watch, hoping for Baltimore and Houston losses to get into the playoffs. Win and get in/Lose and you're fired Flexed to the late afternoon slot are the legit playoff deciders, although this first one probably shouldn't be. Carolina vs Atlanta acts as both a win-and-get-in game and a lose-and-you're fired match. The latter may be a bit dramatic but there's at least the possibility that Mike Smith and Ron Rivera are coaching for both a playoff spot - and division championship no less - and their jobs. The winner of Sunday's AFC South tilt will finish with seven wins and likely get crushed at home in the first round of the playoffs. The consolation prize for the loser is a potential Top 10 pick in this year's draft. Fight for the North A division battle I can get a little more into! The two heavyweights in the AFC North this year - Green Bay, of course, and Detroit, kind of surprisingly - will take their battle for the division title down to the last Sunday of the regular season. The Packers have the added incentive of a first-round bye attached to a win while the Lions could still achieve that as well but would need a bunch of other things to happen as well. There's a lot of Super Bowl talk surrounding the Packers this time of year, not so much with the Lions. Even Lions fans don't seem too hopeful heading into Sunday; the smart money seems to be on Green Bay. Fight for the North 2 About an hour after the NFC North is decided, the AFC North will be up for grabs in the last Sunday Nighter of the regular season. Cincinnati has the edge heading into the game by virtue of their tie earlier in the season, but with Denver likely to beat Oakland earlier in the day, this game isn't for much other than home field in the first round of the playoffs. Harbaugh's goodbye? Harbaugh's goodbye to San Francisco? Definitely. But it may not be his goodbye to the NFL. Despite what will surely be - or has already been - a very generous offer from Michigan for Harbaugh to return the NCAA, the four-year head coach is expected to have plenty of suitors from the pro game as well. He may not even escape the Bay Area with the Oakland Raiders expected to come calling as well. It will be interesting to see how the 49ers respond knowing their coach is screaming at them for the last time. They should still be able to send him out a winner against Logan Thomas, errr Ryan Lindley. Lee Stempniak Hurricanes Jersey. New York Red Bulls. His final major league game was as Texas catcher in the deciding Game 5 of the World Series won by the Giants. The Rangers also said Tuesday that Triple-A manager Bobby Jones will be the assistant hitting coach. The team had previously announced that Jones, who has spent 26 seasons in the organization, would be promoted to the major league staff with his role to be determined. Molina spent this season as assistant hitting coach for the National League champion St. Louis Cardinals, his first coaching job. PITTSBURGH -- Sidney Crosby, Chris Kunitz and Lee Stempniak have been playing together for less than two weeks. Funny, they looked like longtime friends during Pittsburghs 5-1 demolition of Dallas on Tuesday night. Quick to the puck and even quicker to the net, the Penguins top line overwhelmed the suddenly struggling Stars as Pittsburgh bounced back from a dismal weekend sweep at the hands of Philadelphia by jumping on Dallas early. Crosby scored his 32nd goal less than 5 minutes in, added his 33rd early in the third period and dished out an assist on Stempniaks first goal with the Penguins to push his point total to an NHL-leading 91. More importantly, Pittsburgh hardly looked like the team humbled by the Flyers during a forgettable home-and-home sweep. "We werent happy with those losses, we have to do better," Crosby said. "We wanted to make sure we went out there and played hard. Its a desperate team were playing and hopefully we can build that same emotion, same intensity we had tonight and carry it over to the rest of the season." Kunitz chipped in his 32nd goal after skipping two games with a leg injury and added an assist. Brandon Sutter pushed in a late short-handed goal and Jeff Zatkoff stopped 32 shots to win for the 11th time in his past 14 games. Tyler Seguin scored his 31st goal for the Stars. Kari Lehtonen made 27 saves, but Dallas slumped again on the road. The Stars have been outscored 12-3 over their past two games to slip out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. "I think you cant blame one guy for any of the goals," Seguin said. "This is a team matter were going to deal with. Its just about execution. Weve been showing glimpses of it lately, but too many breakdowns." A no-no when playing Crosby. The Pittsburgh captain seemed energized by the return of Kunitz. Reunited against a scuffling team trying to make a late run at the post-season, Crosby and Kunitz helped the Metropolitan Division-leading Penguins rebound by playing with the chemistry that makes them one of the most potent one-two combinations in the league. The game was less than 5 minutes old when Crosby put Pittsburgh in front. Fourth-line forward Craig Adams -- finishing out his shift -- dug out a loose puck in the corner and fed it to Crosby darting through the slot. Crosby deked past Dallas defenceman Sergei Gonchar then held the puck long enough for Lehtonen to commit before slipping the puck into an open net to give the Penguins some welcome momentum. Seguin tied it at 12:30 into the first with a pretty deflection off a Trevor Daley shot from the point, but the game was tied less than three minutes before Kunitz pounced on a rebound off a Stempniak shot to put the Penguins in front to stay. The Penguins acquired Stempniak from Calgary on March 5 hoping the veteran forward could patch the hole on the first line that hasnt really been filled since Pascal Dupuis was lost for the season with a knee injury in December. After a series of near misses in his first six games with Pittsburgh, Stempniak finally broke through 13:21 into the second period. He skated into the zone and dropped the puck to Crosby and sprinted to the net. The puck was on Stempniaks stick again a split second later as Kunitz hit him streaking through the slot. Stempniak knocked it in for his ninth of the season while getting tripped by Dallas Brenden Dillon in the process. "Its been a little while, its nice to get a goal," Stempniak said. "Great passing play from Sid to Chris. I went to the net and it was on my tape ... Sids so dynamic, he opens up a lot. Chris has a great shot. I just try to fit in and skate and keep up." That was more than enough for Zatkoff, who made two glove saves in the second period during Dallas best sustained pressure. Crosby banged in a rebound 1:56 into the third to push Pittsburghs lead to three and the pressure that had built after dispiriting performances against the Flyers -- games in which the Penguins said they were more concerned with the way they played than the actual score -- lifted. BUFFALO, N.Y. -- First, Patrick Kane gave his family and friends something to cheer about by scoring a highlight-reel goal in a rare trip home to Buffalo on Sunday night. Then, Kane stuck around an hour after the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 victory over the Sabres, by posing for pictures and signing autographs in the stands. As homecomings go, Kanes was nearly complete except that his beloved grandfather Donald Kane was not around to see it after passing away last month. "No matter what, youre going to miss him," Kane said, following only his fourth NHL game at Buffalo. "But life goes on, and I think more importantly, I have a lot of family here at the game that came and supported me." Coach Joel Quenneville saw a jump during a performance in which Kane snapped a five-game goal drought that began after his grandfathers death. "I thought Kane was special," Quenneville said. "He was a threat and had the puck on his stick tonight: very dangerous and nice to see him play well here at home." Kane opened the scoring 3:12 in, by capping a breath-taking rush. Bursting past defenceman Christian Ehrhoff, Kane snapped a shot through the legs of defenceman Chad Ruhwedel that beat goalie Jhonas Enroth over the left shoulder. Kane nearly made it 2-1 with 8 minutes left in the second period, when he got in alone behind the Sabres defence only to have his backhander stopped by Enroth. He also scored into an empty net, but a second after the final horn sounded. Captain Jonathan Toews secured the win by scoring the go-ahead goal 1:34 into the third period. Corey Crawford stopped 20 shots, and the Blackhawks (38-13-14) snapped a two-game road skid. Drew Stafford scored for the league-worst Sabres (19-37-8), who had a three-game home winning streak snapped. Stafford capped a nifty three-way passing play to tie the game midway through the first period. Tyler Ennis started it by finding trailing forward Cory Conacher driving up the left wing. Conacher drew Crawford from out of the net and slipped a pass into the crease where Stafford jammed it in after his first chance was blocked by Brent Seabrook. The assist for Ennis made up for a goal he had disallowed a few minutes earlier, when he was called for hooking Crawford. "I didnt tthink it was a penalty, and frustrated that I had the goal taken away," Ennis said.dddddddddddd "But I dont think that was the turning point." The difference was the Sabres ongoing difficulties on offence, which has managed a league-low 122 goals. Buffalos power play went 0-for-5 on Sunday, and is 0-for-10 over its past four games. "What do we take out of that one?" Ennis said. "One: Jhonys playing great. Two: Weve got to stay out of the box. And, three: Our power plays got to be better." Enroth stopped 29 shots and had little chance on either of the two goals he gave up. With the game tied at 1 and the Sabres mounting a threat in Chicagos end to open the third period, Toews answered by capping a 3-on-2 rush the other way. Andrew Shaw crossed Buffalos blue line and found Brandon Saad breaking up the right wing. Saad drew Enroth his way before steering a pass through the crease to Toews, who then snapped it in the open side. It was Toews 25th goal of the season and sixth in four games. Toews has shown little sign of a post-Olympic hangover after he helped Canada win a gold medal at Sochi. "I think hes returned from the Olympics in great shape, very confident," Quenneville said. "He just seems to have the knack, has good pace with it, has the puck a lot as well. And when hes around the net, hes getting rewarded." The Blackhawks extended their win streak to five games against the Sabres. And with 90 points, they jumped into third place in the Western Conference standings, a point ahead of idle San Jose. NOTES: Kane was the last Chicago player off the ice following pregame warmups and got a big cheer after flipping a puck into a large crowd of Blackhawks jersey-wearing fans behind the teams bench. ... MILWAUKEE -- Pitcher Yovani Gallardo delivered a pinch-hit double that drove home the winning run with two outs in the 10th inning Tuesday night, foiling Baltimores strategy and sending the Milwaukee Brewers over the Orioles 7-6. With the pitchers spot on deck and knowing Milwaukee was out of position players, the Orioles intentionally walked power-hitting Mark Reynolds with two outs and no one on base in the 10th. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke then sent up Gallardo -- a starting pitcher who was 1 for 14 this season -- to bat for reliever Francisco Rodriguez (2-1). Gallardo drove a 2-0 pitch from T.J. McFarland (0-1) to deep centre field to win it. Reynolds earlier hit his 12th homer. The Brewers blew an early 5-0 lead, but tied it at 6 with two outs in the ninth on an infield single by Jonathan Lucroy. Lyle Overbay singled to open the ninth and Jean Segura sacrificed pinch runner Elian Herrera to second. Ryan Brauns ground out sent Herrera to third, and he scored when Lucroy hit a chopper and barely beat third baseman Manny Machados throw to first. The Orioles took a 6-5 lead in the seventh on pinch hitter Steve Pearces three-run homer. Nelson Cruz hit his major league-leading 17th homer in the Baltimore fifth. He walked to open the seventh, and an error by Segura on his flip from shortstop set up Pearces homer off Matt Garza. The Brewers, who blew a 6-4 lead in the ninth inning on Monday and lost to the Orioles in the 10th, powered their way to early lead. Carlos Gomez hit a three-run homer and solo shots by Reynolds and Khris Davis, all off starter Wei-Yin Chen, made it 5-0 through the fourth. NOTES: Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez, on the disabled list since May 13 with a left hamstring injury, fielded grounders before the game. "It felt good. I took like 20-25 groundballs," he said. "Hopefully that clears it up a bit more," said Henderson, who experienced discomfort in his shoulder during his minor league rehab assignment on Friday. "We need to free it up and be pain-free and then well be good to go, really. Im going to just ice it and make sure the injection stays in there and does its work. Then we can get back to strengthening it and exercising again." ... Gomez extended his hitting streak to eight games. ... KVITFJELL, Norway -- Erik Guay has never been a fan of skiing with pain but is showing he can adapt and overcome. The native of Mont-Tremblant, Que., captured a World Cup downhill event Saturday, his second this year and fifth career victory on the circuit. And it came on one of his favourite courses as two of his victories and four of his 22 podium finishes have come at Kvitfjell, where theres a super-G scheduled for Sunday. "There are a lot of similarities (between Norway and Quebec)," Guay said during a conference call. "When I left Quebec it was raining and warm and thats pretty much exactly what its here but it can easily be -30 C, again, a lot like Quebec. "I feel comfortable when I come here." Guay finished fourth in a downhill event Friday. The impressive showings came following a respectable 10th-place effort in the downhill at the Sochi Games. But Guay said he battled knee issues in Russia. He had knee surgery in the summer and claimed a World Cup downhill in Val Gardena, Italy, in December but didnt feel anywhere near 100 per cent in Sochi. "It (knee) affected me a lot," he said. "I have a hard time skiing through pain, I have a hard time really finding that courage, that determination to fight through it and push on the ski. "I was trying not to mention it too much in the media because I wanted to put it out of my head completely and sort of pretend and focus that it wasnt even there. You definitely have that on the brain and it was affecting me because I couldnt do a proper preparation for the Games." However, Guay said hes working on improving his mental ability to deal with injury much like teammate Jan Hudec of Calgary, who has overcome numerous ailments to succeed on the world scene. "The ideal situation is to not have that pain and I plan to deal with it in the off-season," Guay said. "Right now Im trying to work through it and I think its an important thing. "If I look at a guy like Jan Hudec, probably one of his biggest strengths is that strength and character he shows when he has those injuries. I know he skiis in a lot of pain so I like to watch those circumstances and try to emulate them. Its not always easy for me. I think when I dont feel 100 per cent its tough for me to go out and attack it but id like to think its getting better." Guay, 32, finished ahead of Frenchman Johan Clarey and Olympic champion Matthias Mayer of Austria. American Travis Ganong, who was third Friday, narrowly missed out on another podium, finishing 0.62 seconds back in fourth.dddddddddddd Bode Miller, a bronze medallist in the super-G at the Sochi Olympics, was eighth. Conditions were overcast and a little foggy but unlike Fridays downhill the rain stayed away. Guay had a time of one minute 22.17 seconds, finishing 0.35 seconds ahead of Clarey -- who secured a third career podium. "Its difficult conditions, soft snow. I think you need a really well-balanced touch," Guay said. "If youre too aggressive or leaning in a little bit, its easy to lose (time)." Jeffrey Frisch of Mont-Tremblant finished 17th while Manuel Osborne-Paradis of North Vancouver, B.C., was 21st. Benjamin Thomsen of Invermere, B.C., was 43rd, finishing one spot ahead of Hudec. Other Canadians included: Conrad Pridy of Whistler, B.C., (50th), Torontos Dustin Cook (59th) and Morgan Pridy of Whistler (60th). Meanwhile, it was the best result of Clareys career. "It shows anything can happen, even late on. Better late than never," Clarey said. "Im not hugely confident at the moment and the Olympics were difficult for me to cope with mentally." Clarey had pondered retirement after the Sochi Games, where he didnt finish the downhill and was 19th in super-G. "This changes my ideas a little bit from a psychological point of view," he said. "Even though my knees still pretty banged up." Despite already having an Olympic gold medal, the 23-year-old Mayer clinched his first career podium in World Cup downhill and only his third overall. "I had a lot of things to do, with celebrating the Olympic victory back home. I hadnt much time for me to be prepared," Mayer said. "I can be happy with this result. Its very difficult to be fast here, with the soft snow its not the best conditions." Ganong finished fifth in the downhill at the Sochi Olympics. "I really thought I could (win), so I pushed a little harder and had a couple mistakes. I was able to make up a lot of time on the bottom and salvage fourth place," he said. "Its really fun skiing right now. Im having a good time and the results are coming." Olympic super-G champion Kjetil Jansrud of Norway, who tied for the win Friday with Austrian Georg Streitberger, placed fifth. "I made a couple of mistakes which I didnt think I would make," Jansrud said. "Fell on my inside ski a couple of times, I had to support myself on my hand." Overall World Cup leader Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway was tied for sixth with Switzerlands Silvan Zurbriggen.
