So why suspend Sean Avery indefinitely because of some smart-ass comments, but only give Ruutu 2 games for BITING another player? Don't you think that is a little stupid?

Biting another player should never happen. Talking shit ALWAYS happens, Avery just did it in front of too many cameras...

The NHL needs to get their shit straight and make sure they have their priorities in line, as player safety (i.e. not getting bit) should be #1, not player's feelings (i.e. getting called out in public).

Well, looks like we lucked out and get to play the Cardinals on Saturday at home. While I don't want to say this will be "easy", it is probably the best situation we could have ended up in for the Divisional Round.

Hopefully the Eagles beat up on the Giants Sunday so we play for the NFC Championship at home as well. That would be so nice!

I guess we'll see how things turn out this weekend...

Well, we don't have home-field advantage guaranteed through the playoffs, but a bye week is still nice. Nothing like a well-deserved break before starting the playoffs.

I'll have to watch out for how round 2 shapes up after the wild card round. I'm hoping we don't have to play Atlanta, though it'll be nice to play in Charlotte.

We'll have to see if we have what it takes to go all the way...

Oh well, no home-field advantage for us in the playoffs. We'll still end up number 2 seed in the NFC if we beat New Orleans next week, so all is not lost.

This has been one of the best years ever for us, and I think we have what it takes to go all the way. Only the Giants really stand in the way, and we ALMOST had them last week...

Is it just me or are movies getting worse and worse these days? It seems like Hollywood has sold out, and you rarely see a movie with a plot that can hold water, or even with very good acting.

I think Hollywood is more worried about how much they can make with product placement and how many tickets they can sell in the first weekend before anyone realizes that the movie sucks.

When it starts being about how much money you can make, and less about how many people you can entertain, the industry is moving in the wrong direction.

Why do some people sit back and let the honest workers pull their weight for them?

I hate people like that. They might as well be stealing from you and the company you work for. I hate thieves, too. There is always someone like this in every office. Some hide it well, while others almost beg to be fired for it.

I'm the kind of person that wants my hard work to be appreciated, but instead it goes unnoticed since half of my hard work is really the other guy's hard work I'm doing for him so I can go home at the end of the day. Sad, isn't it...

I love October.

I love the weather changes (good ridance, heat and humitidy), the color changes, and leaves on the ground.

But, there is one reason that stands out above all others: Hockey season!

This will be my wife and I's second year as Season Ticket holders for the Fayetteville Fireantz. For those of you who are not familiar with the Fireantz, they are Fayetteville's local minor-league professional hockey team. We were lucky enough to be present when we won the President's Cup in 2007, and hope we can bring the Cup back to Fayetteville this year.

If you've never been to a hockey game, I highly recommend it. My wife had never even watched a hockey game on TV before I took her to her first game two years ago, and she loved it. I think she's almost a bigger fan than me now...
