My Blog
I am the Vice President of Professional Women of Fayetteville, NC. We raise funds for scholarships for women at Fayetteville Technical Community College and Methodist University.
Each year in October we have an auction as a fund - raiser. I have participated in the tyBit Pay Per Position advertising plan purchasing keywords and advertising. The results are fantastic! tyBit's PPP advertising also contributes to our Search Engine Optimization and I have seen the results in our Google PageRank.
If you are a member of a non-profit organization you may want to consider placing an ad in tyBit! We can help you gain more visibility for your group. Call us at 1-877-404-7250 for a free 7 day trial ad campaign.
AIT and tyBit yesterday announced a FREE Web hosting plan with the purchase of your domain name and a 30 day advertisement on tyBit's GKR.
As a professional, I know the importance of what people see about you when they search online for your name. Perspective employers, groups and associations view your profile to learn about you...where do you spend your time. So why not purchase your name as a domain, set up a Web site and link to your favorite causes! Use your advertisement to market yourself, especially if you are looking for a new job or a member of Match or eHarmony seeking to make friends. Take advantage of the tyBit Affiliate program and display your ad on your tyVille profile!
Last week the Senate passed a stimulous package for a $15,000 credit for home buyers. This package appears to be for all homes purchased, not just for first time home buyers. The package is for a maximum of $15,000 or 10% of the value of the home purchased.
As mortgage companies now require a 20% downpayment - can this $15000 be applied to the downpayment at loan closing? Or is this a tax credit for me when I file a tax return?
As a downpayment credit it may help me to qualify for the home, but again, puts the money right back into the hands of the bank! This may spur home sales, which will help the real estate and home builders.
Can I use this credit to purchase a second home such as a beach property?
We have seen nationwide budget cuts and reversions taking place, including travel restrictions to trade shows and technology conferences. With this in mind many conferences will become a proponent of the Internet.
One such conference to be held in North Carolina is the 10th annual UNC Teaching and Learning Technolgy Conference in March 2009. Anyone can attend the online conference and interact with the presenters for question and answers.
As a presenter you can chose a session type to make your presentation which will inlcude:
1. Synchronous presentation and discussion which allows the presentation to occur in real time allowing the presenter to interact with the audience.
2. Asynchronous presentation which allows the presentation to be recorded in advance of the conference.

I think we will see more of this type of interaction and global meeting on the Internet in 2009! This could also be a new frontier for the tradional news and media changing how we view and present press conferences.
The House approved an extension on the Internet tax ban on October 28, 2008. The vote was 402 - 0! This keeps the Internet free from Federal, State and additional taxes such as the Universal Subscriber Line.
The original decision to ban local and federal government tax was set in 1998. This bill has been extended twice, each time for another four years. Last week The House approved a seven year extension!

As President, John McCain would:
- Encourage investment in innovation
- Develop a skilled work force
- Champion open and fair trade
- Reform intellectual property protection
- Keep the Internet and entrepreneurs free of unnecessary regulation
- Ensure a fully connected citizenry
I agree we should encourage investment in innovation and support entrepreneurship, protect intellectual property, and keep the Internet free of regulation. To develop a skilled work force I think we need to start at the high school level. Our drop - out rates are too high and we do not offer technical skills and trade apprenticeships to teach these high school kids how to make a living! They know how to stay connected. If they like something they can tell thousands of people in less than a minute. The big question - How connected is John McCain and Sarah Palin?
