When I bought the house I'm in now, the inspector noted the dryer vent went only to the attic, which is a fire risk. The homeowner refused to repair but offered a price cut in compensation. Since it was a simple fix, I went for it. Now I'm doing it myself and I wish I had paid someone else. The whole I had to cut in the wall to take it out of the attic is over the carport, so it's almost impossible to get to. The wires to the house are mere inches away, making it precarious and dangerous to try and do anything with the vent cover. And after all that got installed, the stupid hose I have isn't long enough. Now I have to buy more AC ventilation conduit, but to top the cake, you can't just buy 5 feet. No, it comes in a 25 foot roll. What am I going to do with the other 20 feet? Pretend I'm the robot from lost in space?
